KAP, Kundalini Activation & Life Force: The Terms, Explained

If you’ve been exploring this practice, you’ve probably seen several names used almost interchangeably: KAP - the Kundalini Activation Process, , Kundalini Activation, life force, energy transmission. Here’s a clear, plain-English guide to what each term means, how they relate, and where the modern practice comes from.

Kundalini Activation Process (KAP)

KAP stands for the Kundalini Activation Process. It’s a modern, transmission-based practice: you lie down, close your eyes, and let your body respond while a certified facilitator holds the session. There’s nothing to perform — no breathwork, no postures to copy. KAP is simply the short way of saying Kundalini Activation Process.

Kundalini Activation: the shorter name

You’ll often see Kundalini Activation used on its own. In everyday use it points to the same thing: the receptive, transmission-based practice described above. It’s worth knowing this is different from Kundalini Yoga, which is an active, traditional practice you do.

What life force (kundalini) means here

Life force is the everyday term for the body’s vital energy — what older traditions call prana or chi. In a Kundalini Activation Process session, the transmission is often described as a descending life force: energy that moves gently from the crown downward, inviting a natural, gradual awakening. You don’t have to believe anything for the experience to be real — many people simply notice warmth, movement, or deep calm.

KAP practice comes from - Venant Wong

The Kundalini Activation Process was founded by Venant Wong, an energy practitioner who discovered he could activate this process through direct transmission. His signature is a grounded approach — awakening while staying connected to the body and to ordinary life. It’s fair to say that much of today’s wider wave of activation and energy-transmission work reached a wide audience through his teaching and transmission. We name this out of respect for the source of the practice we hold.

How it differs from Kundalini Yoga

In short: Kundalini Yoga is an active practice you do — postures, breath, mantra. The Kundalini Activation Process is a transmission you receive, lying still. Both work with the idea of kundalini and life force; they simply approach it differently.

Why the words matter

Knowing the terms means you know exactly what you’re booking — a calm, body-led session with a certified facilitator, held as pure KAP without other modalities mixed in. Clarity is part of how we keep the practice trustworthy.

In short: KAP and Kundalini Activation are the same modern, receptive practice — a transmission of life force, founded by Venant Wong — and distinct from the active tradition of Kundalini Yoga.
