Online vs In-Person KAP Sessions — Which Is Right for You?

A question we hear often: does KAP work online, or do I need to be in the room?

It’s a fair question. And the honest answer is: both work. They just offer different things.

Here’s what you actually need to know before deciding.

How online KAP works

You lie down in your own space — at home, wherever you feel comfortable — while the facilitator guides the session over video. The music plays through your own speakers or headphones. The touch element isn’t part of it, but the energetic transmission still happens.

People often report strong experiences online — physical sensations, emotional release, spontaneous movement — even without physical contact. The nervous system doesn’t need proximity to respond.

What online sessions are good for

Online is a great fit if you’re outside London, prefer the privacy of your own home, have a busy schedule, or simply feel more relaxed in your own environment. Some people find it easier to fully let go when they’re in familiar surroundings.

It’s also a useful starting point if you’re curious but not quite ready to come in person. Many people try a private online session first, then move to in-person later.

What in-person sessions offer

Coming in person adds a layer of physical grounding that some people find helpful, especially if their nervous system tends to stay activated or they have difficulty dropping in. The space itself matters — the room, the facilitator’s physical presence, the shared energy of other participants in a group.

In-person sessions also allow for consensual light touch from the facilitator — a hand on the shoulder or feet — which can help anchor the experience. If you’re drawn to that kind of physical support, in-person is the better choice.

The honest comparison

Online KAP: accessible, private, convenient. Works well for most people. No travel, no space to find, no logistics. The experience can be just as deep.

In-person KAP: a fuller sensory experience. Physical presence, shared space, the option for touch. Particularly useful if you find it hard to relax alone or want the container of a held space.

Neither is more advanced or more effective than the other. It depends on what you need.

Practical things to consider

For online sessions, you’ll need a quiet space where you can lie down undisturbed for around 90 minutes, a stable internet connection, and ideally a speaker (not just laptop audio) for the music.

For in-person, our London sessions are held in a calm, purpose-set space. Everything you need is provided — mat, blanket, eye mask. Just arrive comfortably dressed and on time.

Not sure which to choose?

Go with whichever feels more accessible right now. Both formats work. What matters most is that you actually show up.

You can view our available sessions — both online and in-person — and book directly from the sessions page. If you have questions first, our FAQ covers the basics, or you’re welcome to get in touch.
